It all started in a darkroom in secondary school in my homeland of Denmark when I was 14. I would spend days on end taking photos of anything and everything, forgetting the world around me.
I had to work it all out on my own as I never had a mentor, it was before you could google your way to knowledge and photography wasn't something you could really get a degree in around my hometown, so it has been a long journey of trial and error and a lot of figuring things out as I went along.
Once I moved to London I did however start assisting some successful still life & music photographers, who taugth me how to work in a studio and run a business. Also, working with products for advertising - and how attention to detail is the key when you’re after a good picture - has had a major impact on my work.
I have been freelancing out of London for the past 14 years and shoot a number of different types of photography, specialising in live gigs, festival coverage and events.
Live photography has taught me a lot about pressure and the ability to work in a fast and very limited space of time, as you only get one chance to catch the moment - a valuable skill to have in any genre of photography.
